3 Lessons on the Power of Patience

“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity” - Carl Jung

Patience is something that many of us struggle with. The fast pace of modern life has made used to instant gratification, which can be nice, but doesn’t always provide the best results. There is a value and an innate power to patience. It’s purpose is to connect you to your higher wisdom to know the right time. Impatience leads to anxiety and distress. When you’re constantly taking shortcuts to get ahead, you interrupt the progress that can be made from a sensible, more successful approach. When we act out of frustration we lose our inner sense of direction, emotions and thoughts become scattered, and we end up back where we started. Patience doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t pursue something. It means to trust that you will get to where you need to be without the stresses and frustrations of trying to achieve things too quickly. Here are 3 Lessons on the power of patience.

1. The best things in life are worth waiting for

Practicing patience encourages you to shift your perspective to the bigger picture. The bigger picture involves building something that is made to last by taking the measured steps to get there. Construct strong foundations through a determined will and inner drive that only measured by success. Patience allows for integrity in all your action steps to reaching a positive outcome. It’s the accumulation of all the little achievements that create an end result to be proud of. There are no shortcuts to your dreams and ambitions, trust the process, yourself, and your journey.

2. Patience is an intuitive force of inner strength

Your intuition is heightened and resonates more powerfully when you tap into it. Patience encourages this relationship and builds on all your resources of inner strength. When the road ahead seems dark and the path to success seems murky, your inner brilliance will pull you through. Patience is fluid; it bides your time while maintaining a sharp vision that drowns out negativity.

3. Tear down invisible walls

Anxiety and frustration blocks you emotionally and mentally. It creates invisible walls and barriers that simply do not exist, and only distract you from the mission at hand. Through patience you can unlock your full potential to step out of circumstance and move past obstacles. Patience is humble and strategic, willful yet respectful. It transcends what is external when drawn inwardly to a deeper knowledge of self and what you are truly capable of. Keep tearing down walls!

It is always important to remember that life does not punish you, but it does push you. It pushes you to be great and to realize all your inherent qualities. Life drives you to innately trust and believe in your true power to absorb the lessons that are meant to enhance your strength of character patiently along the way to your dreams, hopes and aspirations.
