6 Great Things You Can Start This Spring

After freezing temperatures and ridiculously short days, spring has finally arrived. It doesn’t get better than clear skies and the smell of fresh cut grass. There’s no better time to start a personal revival than the spring season, and there are so many things that you can do to improve your life. Here are six things all across the board that you can do to create some positive changes in the spring.

1. Change Your Look

If you’re not one that’s not known for personal style, put up an effort and amp up your wardrobe or perhaps get a new haircut. There are plenty of affordable clothes out there that can garner compliments. The old adage of looking good and feeling good is entirely accurate, and if you’ve been rocking the same clothes and same haircut since the better part of the last decade, go ahead and surprise some people, maybe even yourself.

2. Build Something

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a project through from start to finish, especially if you crafted something from your own two hands. Even if it’s not perfect, it’s yours. Put your time to good use and start a project that will provide an improvement to your day to day life. Whether you’re constructing a tray for your lap while you watch TV or a dining room table, it’s a good use of your time. Not savvy with your hands? What a wonderful opportunity to learn something new.

3. Pursue an Old Passion

Time can often be so cruel to us, it wastes away all too rapidly and things we once treasured can fall to the wayside. Whether whatever it was you enjoyed was once your primary career path option or something you did purely for pleasure, bring it back into your life, no matter how big or small. It could lead to a whole new slate of opportunities, you thought were long gone. Most importantly, doing what you love will make you happy.

4. Exercise Regularly

This is the one you probably expected the most, but your health is so pivotal and spring is a perfect time for a physical rejuvenation. Now is the best running weather you’re going to have, embrace the fresh air and break a nice sweat. You don’t have to spend hours at a gym, but putting forth a good effort may lead to surprising results, and will make you want more.

5. Learn to Cook

More than ever, cooking seems to be a dwindling skillset. Learning to cook is a constructive use of your time, and you may find it incredibly therapeutic. Also, finding new recipes may lead to a more adventurous palette and healthier options over fast and processed food. Tonight, prepare something you’ve never tried, but have always wanted to. When it’s done, it will taste that much better because you made it.

6. Clean and Reorganize

If your living space isn’t in the best shape, it’s time for some reorganization. Get out your vacuum, duster, and storage bins and take your weekend to take your living space to new levels. You’ll be incredibly surprised by how much there is to be cleaned, and how many dispensable objects you have, even if you think you live minimally. Don’t let everything accumulate, put in the effort to clean and be amazed by the results.
